ABOUT US
YellowVeg.org was started and currently operated by a college
student after learning that many do not eat nutritious foods and
many do not get enough to eat in order to grow, learn, be healthy
and function properly-it was just the right thing to do. Simone
Hairston hopes to accomplish two (2) goals with YellowVeg.org:
provide nutritious food to those in need and provide invaluable
information on food nutrition to the world. Simone completed her
course requirements in Food & Nutrition at the North Carolina
Agricultural &Technical State University in June 2014 and currently
enrolled full-time in Virginia State University’s Dietary Internship
Program to be a Registered Dietician. Previously as a student she
worked as an Intern at Penn State University’s Food & Nutrition
Research School and Simone broadened her knowledge on food
nutrition by studying abroad at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus.
YellowVeg.org will partner with the food industry, offer
advertising and other means in order to provide food to those in
need. In addition to the website, Social Media (Facebook, Twitter,
etc.) will play a vital role in disseminating valuable nutritional
information and awareness.
YellowVeg.org encourages your dialogue, feedback and anything
that you can offer as an asset to provide to those in need of food
and food nutrition information at food@yellowveg.org.
